Kyle’s 1960 Ford

Kyle Bonds writes: In high-school I shared this hand-me-down car with my sister. A 1960 Ford - it was so plain it didn’t even have a model name, just “car”. Straight 6 engine, 3 on the tree transmission. The radio didn’t even have pre-set buttons. The cops would pull over my friends in their Mustangs and not even glance at this.

During my summers on an Uncle’s farm I would drive this 1970 Dodge Power Wagon. 3/4 ton, 4-wheel drive and manual steering. If I was ever going to develop muscles it would have been after wrestling this thing down dirt roads. If you had a heavy trailer the steering wheel just suggested a direction that it might go.
